Charlie Tate is a law student who was counting on a luxurious sun-filled vacation on the island of Lanai to reconnect with her boyfriend. Instead, she's trapped in paradise with his hostile family-who don't approve of her-and the sudden, unwelcome arrival of his "perfect" ex-girlfriend. Feeling ditched but desperate to still enjoy her vacation, Charlie sets out to explore the island alone, only to find herself completely lost in more ways than one.

Koa is the assistant tennis pro at the resort who knows exactly what it feels like to be stranded. Still reeling from a devastating personal loss, he's been quietly going through the motions of his own life-until a beautiful, stressed-out tourist crashes into it.

When Koa steps in to help Charlie navigate the island, what starts as a distraction quickly sparks a connection neither of them saw coming. As the line between escaping reality and facing it blurs, they both realize that getting lost just might be the best way to find out who you're meant to be . . . and who you're meant to be with.
