What if the Icarus of Greek Mythology didn't fly too close to the sun and fall into the sea and drown? What if, instead, his father ripped the divinely gifted wings from his own body and, after affixing them to his son, thrusts his child through time and away from certain peril, causing him to vanish from the world he once knew? That story belongs to Ian.
When Ian's light magick alters how the wings works, he spirals through time. Unsure of when or where he stops, there's little choice but to quickly find out. But he cannot control the magick of the wings. His only option is finding someone with darkness magick to balance his light; maybe then he can go home. But when hope flees, his grief shifts to anger, which demands penitence. He will have his revenge. Nothing can stop it.
Eram has known heartache. She spiraled into the darkness of grief once before and had to claw her way back. So when a dark stranger weighed down by that same darkness needs her aid she agrees to help. She has every reason to be wary of Ian, but for a reason she doesn't quite understand, she feels drawn to him instead. When an attempt to send Ian home goes terribly wrong, the two will have to learn to trust one another. But Eram isn't sure Ian can do that until he reveals the ghosts of his past.
