Sky to the Trenches

Zaire, 1977. Two airmen. One failed mission. And a very long way home.

When Manny and Horacio are thrown into the chaos of the Shaba conflict, getting out alive becomes the only plan that matters.

Stranded far from safety, the two friends are forced through hostile jungle, rebel territory and a string of increasingly ridiculous survival situations. Along the way they encounter Jamal, a resourceful fourteen-year-old with secrets of his own, and Saleem — a monkey who proves considerably less helpful than anyone might hope.

But beneath the humour, the danger is real. As Manny and Horacio are drawn deeper into the conflict, old family wounds and unexpected loyalties begin to surface.

Sky to the Trenches is a historical military adventure blending action, survival, friendship and dark humour against the backdrop of Zaire’s 1977 Shaba conflict.
